Wasted votes — parties below 4%

Bulgaria's electoral system gives no seats to parties under the 4% threshold. Votes cast for those parties end up with no representation — what we usually call "wasted votes".

What you'll find

  • Wasted nationally — total share of votes cast for sub-threshold parties.
  • Almost made it (2–4%) — parties that came close to passing.
  • Fringe (<2%) — fragmented "margin" votes.
  • By region — choropleth map plus sortable table by multi-mandate region. See the full regional ranking.

Calculation: sum of votes for parties below the 4% national threshold, divided by total valid votes.
